New for 2021
- Lots of new things and a few changes in the works this spring for 2021. First off, a company name change in the works this spring. We will be changing to TJs Outdoor Services, LLC. The name change is mainly to reflect the change in focus on services going forward. I want to focus on more than just mowing services, as we work all year round outdoors. And because I was not happy with the rules and legality and tax implications of being a corporation, being an LLC is a lot easier legally, We are going back to that structure. What does that mean for you? Pretty much nothing. We will still continue doing what we do, with new services to offer, and a new website/email. That's it. I am TJ, I am still in charge and the owner, and I am going to keep trying to bring the best we can offer all year round for you. Any questions about that, drop me a line.
- With the name change, we've got a new website! www.tjsoutdoors.com And a couple of new email addresses. Most of the personal email interraction can be done through service @ tjsoutdoors.com and/or thomas @ tjsoutdoors.com. The billing will come through billing @ tjsoutdoors.com. You will see email coming through those addresses going forward. The old email and website will still operate through the rest of the year, but will eventually shut down. For now, our phone and address remain the same as before, but with the new headquarters being built soon that may change eventually as well.
- You may see a few new things as far as the email invoices and online billing. I had to do a mandatory update to the billing/accounting software recently and there are a few changes and new features. It should all work more or less the same as previously, but you know how software engineers can't help but change things for the sake of changing them.
- We work all year round. We offer lawn mowing and yard maintenance work in the summer season. We do spring and fall cleanup, as well as leaf removal using our vacuum service. Spring and fall seasons we offer aeration and seeding services to improve the health of your lawn. We are now offering gardening and pruning, as well as minor landscaping. I acquired power washing equipment last season, and I plan to offer power washing for my customers this year (decks, siding, bricks, patios, fences, etc) Something that I am very excited to promote is our mulching services. We offer delivery and installation of wood mulch in garden beds and your yard. I'd like to focus and expand this service much more in coming years. Last year with the early season shutdown we were limited on the amount of this work we could do, but I'm hoping to really focus on the mulching service not only this spring but all season long.
- I have worked hard this offseason on making some moves that will allow us to expand services in the coming year. I am working on putting the infrastructure in place that will allow us to store large amounts of mulch from a local supplier of high quality mulch. This is all natural hardwood mulch created from actual trees. (A dirty secret that no one tells you is that often mulch is made from scrap wood and pallets) This supplier is a forester, and he makes his own mulch from actual local trees. He creates and supplies UofM with mulch for their grounds care. in the near future, with his help I expect TJs will be able to make our own mulch from locally grown trees and wood. As well as to be able to collect and compost your garden waste to create quality organic mulch for gardens, recycle your branches and tree/bush debris, and in general be able to recycle as much of the yard waste that we create as possible, instead of it ending up in the landfills or city compost. We also work closely with several local farmers, as well as Project Grow to supply them with organic material for recycling and reuse.
- Something we started in the last few years was supplying fall decorations (pumpkins, corn, gourds, mums, etc) for our customers. I am making plans to expand that offering, including growing our own fall produce for our customers. And maybe even more home grown offerings in years to come. Stay tuned for more announcements about these services and offerings in the near future!
- Any questions or comments, feel free to send an email or give me a call.
- Thank you!
